One engine, one trim, one price — the A200 saloon is the entry point to the whole Mercedes range in Saudi Arabia, and the 1.3-litre turbo four under the bonnet is shared with the CLA and GLA. It is also, on our numbers, one of the strongest value-holders the brand sells here. Mercedes has facelifted this generation of A-Class once already, which is why the newer cars carry a different steering wheel and reworked infotainment.
How much does the Mercedes A200 cost in Saudi Arabia?
There is a single 2026 specification, the Sedan, at SAR 195,226 — no trim ladder to work through and no options-led price creep. What you are paying for is a full-size Mercedes cabin, twin screens and 5 seats wrapped around a small engine, rather than a stripped-out version of a bigger car.
Mercedes A200 or Audi A3?
Take the A200 for the cabin and the resale. Nothing at this price matches its dashboard, and it is easier to move on when you are done. The Audi A3 counters with a better-damped ride and a more restrained interior that ages more quietly. The Volkswagen Golf is the sensible third option — more practical, far less prestigious.
What does an A200 cost to run in Saudi Arabia?
Modestly for a premium badge. The 1.3 L engine is small enough that fuel and tyres cost close to mainstream-saloon money, and the Automatic gearbox is a high-volume unit. Warranty and recall work runs through Juffali Automotive Company, whose Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam workshops handle the compact range in bulk — which is exactly why parts for it are rarely on back order.
Does the Mercedes A200 hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
Unusually well. It holds about 65% of its value after five years where a German premium saloon in the Kingdom averages roughly 43%, which is the widest gap in the compact Mercedes range. The cars reaching CarSwitch for inspection are lightly used, with a median around 40,000 km, so age rather than mileage is what to check: interior trim wear, screen delamination and service-book gaps say more than the odometer here. Read the inspection report on the individual car.
Is a used A200 the better buy?
Less obviously than on most Mercedes. An early-2020s example generally runs around SAR 115,000 to SAR 140,000, roughly 41% below the new price and about SAR 80,000 saved — real money, but the model's own retention keeps used ones dear.
