The Tahoe is the brand's centre of gravity, with the Suburban above it and the Silverado alongside, bought for space, highway comfort and a V8 that copes with distance. The Tahoe is where to start, the widest choice here and the best size-to-cost compromise. The Suburban is the same car stretched, worth it only if you need the length. The Traverse gives seven seats without the fuel bill, and the Malibu is the cheap saloon option.
