2020 is the most important year in the car's history. That is when the Corvette moved its engine behind the driver, becoming a fundamentally different machine from the front-engined 2014 to 2019 car — quicker, better balanced, and with a dual-clutch automatic. A 2021 to 2023 car gives you that layout with the early build niggles sorted.
Solid rather than class-leading: about 49% of its value after five years, against 59% for sports cars in the Kingdom, and ahead of Chevrolet's 46% average. The BMW M235 holds around 58% if the number is what you are optimising for.

The BMW M2 is cheaper, usable every day and has back seats, but nothing about it feels as special. The Dodge Challenger is a fraction of the money and the choice if theatre matters more than speed, retaining about 42% after five years. Nothing here matches the Corvette's pace for the outlay.
