In Saudi Arabia the ES is the car most Lexus buyers end up in, and it earns that position by asking nothing of its owner: a big, quiet, front-drive saloon with a cabin that shuts the road out. How much does the Lexus ES cost in Saudi Arabia?
Five trims across three drivetrains. SAR 192,315 buys the Elegant AA (Base) and SAR 273,470 buys the Exclusive 3.5L, but the more useful way to read the ladder is by engine: the four-cylinder and the hybrid sit at the bottom, and everything from Elite upwards runs the 3.5-litre V6. The hybrid is priced just above the base car, not at the top.
Which Lexus ES trim is the one to buy?
Elite, because that is where the V6 begins. Below it you are buying the ES purely for comfort, which is a legitimate reason to buy one. F Sport changes dampers, wheels and cabin trim rather than mechanicals, and Exclusive adds rear-seat and audio equipment; neither makes the car quicker. If fuel bills matter more than overtaking, the ES300h hybrid is the smarter buy.
Lexus ES or Lexus IS?
The ES, unless you genuinely care how a saloon drives. It is longer, quieter and far better suited to long runs between Riyadh and Jeddah, with rear-seat space the smaller car cannot match. The IS is rear-wheel drive and much more engaging, but it is a compact saloon with a compact boot. Buyers also cross-shop the Mercedes E-Class, which rides similarly and costs more to maintain.
What does a Lexus ES cost to run in Saudi Arabia?

The V6 is an old, lightly stressed design rather than a small turbo, and the hybrid system in the 2.5-litre car uses the same Toyota architecture that has been in service for two decades.
