In our closed Saudi sales a 2022 Ford Expedition averaged SAR 162,000, a 2021 SAR 115,000 and a 2020 SAR 114,000. Older cars settle fast: a 2019 at SAR 83,000, a 2018 at SAR 77,000 and a 2016 at SAR 40,000. Live asking prices run from SAR 16,000 for a late-2010s car up to SAR 200,000 for a current-year one.

The bodywork reads better than the class. Evidence from more than 750 Ford Expeditions CarSwitch has inspected in Saudi Arabia shows prior body or panel repair on 38%, against the 61% we would expect for large SUVs of the same age and mileage in the Kingdom — notable on cars whose median mileage is past 216,000 km. That frees inspection time for the drivetrain, where a heavy, well-travelled car wears out.

The Nissan Patrol is the default here and asks more money, with prior panel repair on just 15% of the ones we see. The Expedition is the space-per-riyal pick.

2018 is the year that matters. That is when the Expedition switched to an aluminium body and a turbocharged V6 in place of the old V8, losing weight and gaining a third row an adult can use; the 2007 to 2017 car is an altogether older machine. A second overhaul followed for 2022, which makes 2018 to 2021 the value window.

Weakly, and that is the argument for buying one used rather than new: about 38% after five years, against roughly 47% for large SUVs of the same age and 46% across our Ford listings. The first owner absorbed that drop, which is why this much space costs what it does. If resale is the number you care about most, the Toyota Sequoia is similar money and holds about 46%.
