The Nissan Maxima sells in Saudi Arabia on effortless highway pace for sensible money — six cylinders and a quiet cabin without moving up to a luxury badge.
What to look over on a used Nissan Maxima
Every Maxima we list in the Kingdom carries its CarSwitch inspection report. With no model-wide weakness to price in, go straight to the service history — that is what you are actually buying.
A 2020 Nissan Maxima averaged SAR 71,000 in our closed Saudi sales, a 2017 SAR 51,000, a 2016 SAR 40,000 and a 2014 SAR 25,000. Asking prices on our Kingdom listings sit between SAR 20,000 and SAR 20,000.
A long way, on the evidence. The Maximas we inspect in Saudi Arabia reach us at a median of around 192,000 km, and not one fault category — engine and gearbox, electrical, bodywork, tyres or interior — sits above the rate we would expect for sedans of the same age and mileage in the Kingdom. Nissan's long-serving V6 is the reason those numbers hold up, and at that distance the question stops being the model and becomes the maintenance file.
The Toyota Camry costs a great deal more and shows a mechanical fault on just 13% against an expected 18% — the safe choice, if you are paying. The Nissan Altima is the four-cylinder version of the same brief and cheaper to run. The Maxima is the one to take for the engine and the equipment level per riyal.
2017 to 2020. The current shape launched for 2016 on a much stiffer structure with a redesigned interior and stayed in production until 2023 — so anything from 2017 is the modern car with its early depreciation behind it and no successor waiting to date it. Cars up to 2014 are a different, softer generation.
Under the class average — about 47% after five years, against roughly 56% for sedans of the same age and mileage. The Hyundai Sonata returns about 56%, though 68% of the ones we inspect carry previous panel repair against an expected 55%.
