In Saudi Arabia Renault sells on price per square metre of car: crossovers and saloons that cost less than the obvious alternatives and are cheap to run. The Arkana coupe-SUV is a comparatively recent addition, so the first used examples are only now reaching the market. 29 are listed with us.
How much does a used Renault cost in Saudi Arabia?
One of the cheapest routes into a used crossover in the Kingdom, with listings from SAR 8600 for an early-2010s car to SAR 127154 for a current-year one. Compared like with like: among 2021 cars a Duster went for SAR 35,000 and a Megane for SAR 31,000, and among 2018 cars a Koleos made SAR 41,000 against SAR 23,000 for a Megane. A 2023 Koleos sold at SAR 68,000, about the top of the used market for the brand.
Are used Renaults reliable in Saudi Arabia?
Mechanically they need checking, and the report is the whole purchase decision. Of the 703 Renaults we have inspected in the Kingdom, median mileage 121,000 km, 34% had a fault in the engine, gearbox, suspension or steering, where 19% is typical for cars of that age and mileage here. Electrical faults appeared on 15% against 9% for the same group, and 60% carried previous body or panel repair against 50%. Cars at this price get used, not cosseted — the job is to spot which one was looked after and price the difference in.
Do Renaults hold their value?
Around the middle of the market: Renaults average about 50% of their value after five years across the models we can measure, respectable for cars that started cheap.
Which used Renault should you buy?
The Duster is the one to buy if repairs worry you — mechanically plain and cheap to keep. The Koleos is the comfortable family option, the Arkana looks like more money than it costs, and the Megane suits a commute.
Renault or Kia?
A Kia resells quicker and a Nissan has more workshops behind it. Renault wins on price, and that gap funds what the inspection turns up.
