Want to sell your car in Dammam? The Eastern Province market is smaller than Riyadh and Jeddah, but demand for certain brands is strong, and prices are very close to the national average. Here’s the short version: price your car based on Dammam and Khobar listings, have your registration (Istimara), periodic inspection (Fahas), and insurance ready, and complete the sale through the Vehicle Sale (Mubaya’at Al-Markabat) service on Absher so the money is protected for both sides.

Key Points

  • Dammam and Khobar together account for about 12% of used-car listings in the Kingdom.
  • Dammam prices are less than 1% above the national average, and Khobar’s are about 2.4% above. Neither gap is big enough to base your price on.
  • Toyota, Hyundai, and Changan have the largest share of cars sold through CarSwitch in Dammam.
  • Chinese brands made up about a quarter of the cars we sold in Dammam.
  • The ownership transfer fee is SAR 150, and the Absher Vehicle Sale service fee is SAR 230 including VAT.

How to Price Your Car in Dammam

Search used car listings in Dammam for the same model, year, trim, and mileage, and use the middle of the range as your starting point. According to CarSwitch data, the price gap between Dammam and the national average is less than 1%, and between Khobar and the national average about 2.4%. In other words, don’t expect to sell for more or less just because you’re in the Eastern Province. Your car’s condition and history are what set its price.

Also keep in mind that a minor accident on record lowers the price by about 9%, and average condition by about 6%, compared with a similar clean car. So price realistically from the start.

“The Eastern Province is a market with its own taste. Changan, for example, has nearly double the share in Dammam that it has in Riyadh. Sellers who know what buyers here want can price and list with more confidence.”

A Tip for Eastern Province Sellers

Dammam and Khobar are coastal cities, and the humidity and summer dust take a toll on the AC, paint, and underbody. Before you list, clean the car thoroughly, make sure the AC blows cold, and check for and treat any surface rust.
