That car swapped the live rear axle for independent suspension, which finally made the third row and the space behind it usable — and it costs a great deal more secondhand. If the third row is for children, a 2018 to 2020 car with the 5.3-litre V8 gives up nothing on ability.

It sits level with its class, at about 46% of its value after five years against roughly 47% for large SUVs of the same age.
