The Cadillac SRX is a discontinued mid-size luxury crossover, replaced by the XT5 in 2017, and in Saudi Arabia it now sits in cheap-luxury territory. It buys a lot of car per riyal provided you arrive with the maintenance budget it needs.

How much does a used Cadillac SRX cost in Saudi Arabia?

A 2013 Cadillac SRX averaged SAR 21,000 in our closed Saudi sales, making it one of the cheapest ways into a luxury badge in the Kingdom. Live asking prices run from roughly SAR 21500 for an older example up to SAR 30000 for a newer one. At this level condition matters far more than model year, so let it set what you pay.

Which used Cadillac SRX year should you buy?

Aim at 2012 or later. The second-generation SRX ran from 2010 to 2016 and switched to the 3.6-litre V6 for 2012, dropping the weaker engine below it; the cabin electronics improved at the same time. The 2010 to 2011 cars are cheaper for that reason, and the 2004 to 2009 original is a different vehicle.

That is what a heavily equipped fifteen-year-old crossover looks like in this climate rather than a design flaw — and it is why the report on the individual car decides the price here.

Cadillac SRX or Lexus RX350?

The Lexus RX350 costs far more and is the better long-term bet, with prior body or panel repair on 34% of the ones we inspect against 44% expected for mid-size SUVs of the same age and mileage in the Kingdom. The Cadillac XT4 is the newer, smaller Cadillac if you want the badge without the mileage. The SRX wins on the number at the top of the advert — a legitimate reason to buy one.

What to inspect on a used Cadillac SRX

  • Timing chain and cam actuators — listen on a cold start.
  • Gearbox behaviour when hot, in stop-start traffic.
