Used prices undercut the premium German alternatives sharply, running from SAR 25,000 for an early-2010s car to SAR 265,000 for a current-year one. The like-for-like ladder is the one to use: among 2023 cars a T-Roc went for SAR 63,000, a Tiguan SAR 91,000, a Teramont SAR 119,000 and a Touareg SAR 146,000. Four years older changes the picture entirely — a 2019 Tiguan sold at SAR 58,000 and a 2019 Teramont at SAR 70,000.

Modestly, which is the used buyer's opening: Volkswagens average about 44% of their value after five years across the models we can measure, so a well-kept three-year-old car is the sweet spot in the range.

A Kia is cheaper to service and quicker to resell here. A Ford gives more size per riyal. Volkswagen answers with the best interior of the three.

Mechanically it depends entirely on servicing, because the turbo petrol engines and dual-clutch automatics are unforgiving of skipped intervals. The Teramont is the one to take if you need three rows without paying premium-badge money. The Tiguan is the mid-size default, the T-Roc the compact city option, and the Touareg the most comfortable long-highway car in the range.
