The X70 reached the Kingdom in its updated form with the 1.5-litre turbo and there is no earlier local generation to steer around, so you choose on condition, mileage and remaining factory cover. Check the warranty terms closely — on a nameplate this young, unexpired cover is worth more than a newer plate.

The Kia Sportage costs similar money and comes with a dealer on every arterial road and a long factory warranty — for many buyers that settles it. The Nissan X-Trail is also similar money, with electrical faults on 3% of cars against 7% expected for its band, and it can be serviced anywhere. What the X70 gives you is far more space and equipment for the money.
