The GMC Acadia is the three-row GMC but shows a mechanical fault on 39% of inspections against 26% expected for its own age and mileage group. For more money and a better drive, there is the Mazda CX-9.

2018 onward, without much hesitation. The original was a tall, square crossover built to about 2017 with naturally aspirated engines. The 2018 car was a complete redesign — smaller outside, roomier inside, far quieter, and switched to smaller turbocharged engines with a nine-speed automatic. The two share a name and little else, and the price gap between them is too small to justify the older one.

It tracks its class exactly, at about 40% of its value after five years — the same figure mid-size SUVs of similar age return. Buy a Terrain because it is cheap to get into.
