You are not buying near the end of anything. The typical HR-V we inspect in Saudi Arabia is at about 33,000 km, so these are cars still inside the mileage a first owner covers — with the servicing history to match. The Hyundai Kona holds about 58% and is the sharper drive.

2022 onward if the budget allows. The HR-V was fully redesigned for that model year — a longer bonnet, a wider body and a far more mature cabin than the car it replaced, which had run since the middle of the last decade on the clever centre-tank floor. The older shape is still the more practical one for load space; the newer is quieter and better trimmed. Both use naturally aspirated engines, so the choice is packaging rather than performance.
